If there’s any truth to this story, it sounds like Kim Kardashian’s and Kanye West’s vow to keep their daughter out of the public eye has pretty much flown out the window (probably because it will be next to impossible as long as Kim stays in reality TV). Radar Online reports Kanye wants Kim and baby North to make their debut on the front cover of Vogue. The problem? Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, is NOT interested. A source close to Kanye said:
“It’s no secret that Kanye is a huge fan of fashion, Vogue and especially Anna Wintour. But it’s also pretty well-known that Anna is NO fan of Kim or any reality star appearing in the pages of the magazine. Kanye is determined to make sure baby North isn’t photographed by paparazzi then splashed across the world. He knows what he wants — a professional photographer and the cover of Vogue – nothing else. But clearly, trying to persuade Anna is going to be an uphill battle.”
Kanye reportedly isn’t deterred, however. He may be vacationing in Greece (while Kim and the baby stay home in California), but he’s said to be compiling statistics about how well magazines with reality TV personalities sell: especially Kim’s covers. Vogue is such an iconic magazine, the idea of a reality TV personality appearing on the cover just seems… wrong. But they are bona fide celebrities. I don’t know. Kanye, however, is said to be feeling optimistic that he’s going to change Anna’s mind. I wonder: why not a magazine like People?
