Christina Aguilera, Other Stars in ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Movie Soundtrack

Christina Aguilera leads the all-star lineup of music artists in ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ movie soundtrack. See the full official tracklisting and more details on eclectic mix of artists and musical styles of the highly anticipated album of the upcoming sequel movie.

It won’t be long now for the much anticipated new installment of The Hunger Games based on Suzanne Collins’ trilogy to open in theaters on November 22. And before that, Republic Records will release the movie soundtrack on November 19th.

Christina Aguilera, the multi-Grammy-winning music superstar and coach on NBC’s The Voice, has contributed “We Remain” to the new soundtrack.

She shared her excitement over the inclusion of her song on Twitter @xina: “Love the underlying message of @TheHungerGames. “We Remain” is special new song, its message to my fans & how I connect w/ the movie, alike.”

Other artists featured include the rock icon Patti Smith and New Zealand’s rising star, Lorde, whose international hit single ‘Royals’ famously bumped Miley Cyrus’ ‘Wrecking Ball’ from its No. 1 spot on iTunes. Also contributing songs are the Chris Martin-fronted band Coldplay and the Canadian R&B artist The Weeknd whose newly released album “Kiss Land” just debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

Also notable is a song that was almost not included on the soundtrack; “Lean” by the indie band The National. NME quoted the band’s frontman, Matt Berninger, who said that the song was considered “too dark” at first, in part because of its original title, which was “Dying Is Easy.” But ultimately with a title change it was included in the final cut.

The movie, as noted, opens in theaters on November 22, with all of the original stars reprising their roles; Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark and Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne.
