Kendrick Lamar Disses Lindsay Lohan: Michael Fires Back

This isn’t quite like The Empire Strikes Back, but hey, it’s something. Michael Lohan is apparently getting all riled up after a ridiculous lyric was written by some rapper named Kendrick Lamar. Yes, I had to Google him, too.

So the lyric goes:

“Mollies’ll prolly turn these n****s to f***in’ Lindsay Lohan / A bunch of rich ass white girls lookin’ for parties/ Playin with Barbies, wreck the Porsche before you give ‘em the car key”

Wow. How, oh-so-clever. So that lyric most likely won’t earn Lamar a Grammy statue, but it appears that it did earn him a sneer from Lohan’s daddy. He was not very pleased about having his daughter called out, and he said:

“Who cares? He’s an idiot…senseless. What can you say to a moron?”

“I don’t know who this guy is. I ‘ve never heard of him. That says enough about what his opinion is.”

“He wishes he was in as good of a place as Lindsay.”

So this has apparently become the battle of the less than average IQ’s. I’ve never really been a fan of Michael Lohan, and have the opinion that he sort of grabbed the reins and watched Lindsay dive off of a cliff. He then started to fame whore himself and did a couple of strange pseudo-celebrity appearances.

Now all he does is apparently follow Lindsay around from one rehab facility to the next, trying desperately to make a news story out of his daughter.

The latest? Well, this. To even speak to the media about such a douchey subject is just sad. The father of a real celeb wouldn’t even be involved. Right?

So Michael, crawl back into the hole you came from, and please, stop pretending that anyone cares about your opinions.

There, I feel better.

Harry Connick Jr. Confirmed as "American Idol" Judge

In negotiations after Dr. Luke dropped from the running, Harry Connick Jr. will officially join the judges panel of "American Idol."

Multiple sources confirm the news of who would be joining Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez in the 13th season.

He's no stranger to "Idol," however, as the 45-year-old crooner has appeared as a mentor, performer, and guest judge during the show's run.

Giving us a glimpse as to what his judging style will be like, Harry told E! News back in May, "I think you need to be completely honest, and I think you need to be diplomatic. I think there's no reason to be mean, but it is called being a judge. You have to judge. That's what you do."

Keri Russell Teases 'Beautiful,' 'Big' And 'Epic' 'Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes'

Hopes are high for Matt Reeves' "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes." Its predecessor was a rare exception to the typical, emotionally deaf summer blockbuster that we often sit through, and now people expect the same when Andy Serkis returns as Caesar with Jason Clarke as his new main point of human contact.

They're also joined by Keri Russell, who recently stopped by MTV News to talk about her movie "Austenland" and her work on in the ape-ruled future.

"I think it's going to be really great," she told MTV News' Josh Horowitz. "I love the combination of Matt, such an imaginative and sensitive filmmaker, doing a big summer movie like this for Fox because it will really have a sense of story, which a lot of the big summer movies don't follow too much. It will really have sentiment and emotion to it and intimacy. I think that is what Matt's strength is."

And if that wasn't high enough praise for the sequel due out next year, Russell continued. "It's beautiful and big and epic and I hope it works," she said.

Russell recalled that her favorite part of working on the sequel as all of the time she spent in the woods with Serkis, because who wouldn't like that?. "I loved all of the shooting in the Vancouver wild, these big, beautiful, mossy forests, where you do really feel like you're in another time, and just working with Andy Serkis, who is incredible," she said. "He's so good at what he does."

"Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" opens in theaters on July 18, 2014.

Glam rocker tackled the legendary 1970 Led Zeppelin song for 'American Idol' rock night.

<P>Imagine a freight train speeding toward you at midnight. Or a rockslide barreling down a hill as you try to outrace it. That's the feeling of the ominous, chugging Jimmy Page riff that kicks off <MTVNLINK type="url" id="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/led_zeppelin/artist.jhtml">Led Zeppelin</MTVNLINK>'s 1970 Stonehenge of rock, "Whole Lotta Love." And that's before singer Robert Plant leans into one of the nastiest, ecstatic rock screams this side of the Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again." </P><P> </P><P>That's the song Adam Lambert chose to sing on <a href="/news/articles/1610708/adam-allison-shine-on-idol-rock-night.jhtml">"American Idol" rock night</a> Tuesday (May 5), and, needless to say, it was a challenge that the eyeliner-loving Los Angeles stage veteran was more than up for, hitting a series of high notes and rock screams that would have made Plant proud. It was a risky maneuver that paid off for Lambert, who chose a tune that came in at #75 on <I>Rolling Stone</i> magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" in 2004. </P><P> </P><P></p><div style="margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px; float: left;"> </P><P><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtvmusic.com:84215" width="256" height="223" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashVars="dist=http://www.mtvmusic.com" allowFullScreen="true" AllowScriptAccess="always"></embed></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>The legendary British rock act recorded the tribute to Chicago blues icon Willie Dixon during their second U.S. tour after working it out in their live show, including it on their 1969 classic album <I>Led Zeppelin II.</i> Like many of the songs Zeppelin performed early in their career, "Love" was a blues standard turned on its head with a heavy dose of crunching psychedelic guitar and thundering drums, courtesy of late drummer John Bonham. The song was based on a 1962 tune by another blues forefather, Muddy Waters, called "You Need Love," which was penned by Dixon. </P><P> </P><P>For Zeppelin's version, Plant customized the lyrics by adding some lyrical quotes from a few other songs Dixon wrote for Howlin' Wolf, "Back Door Man" and "Shake For Me," nailing the tricky vocal in a single take. It was also inspired by 1966's "You Need Loving" from the British rock group the Small Faces, for whom Zeppelin had great affection, but they also did not credit Dixon for his part in writing the original lyrics. The song became Zeppelin's first U.S. single and their only U.S. top 10 hit. Though their manager would not let them release singles in the U.K. because he thought it cannibalized album sales, the song was finally released as the band's only British single in 1997. </P><P> </P><P>Dixon sued Zeppelin over the song in 1985, claiming it borrowed too heavily from his "You Need Love," and Zeppelin reached an agreement with him, with Dixon using the money he received to set up a program that provided musical instruments for schools. Kim Kardashian Jabs At Katie Couric

Well, well, well. If it isn’t the old case of getting involved with a celebrity that the media already loathes. The same thing happens every time Kim, the media will turn against you, too. Messing with Kanye West could be the fatal career mistake that you won’t be able to recover from.

Just take the latest incident with Katie Couric, who is yet another media personality to slam Kim. Recently, the famous newsreader said something in InTouch magazine that didn’t sit well with Kim.

Couric said she didn’t understand why Kim was even famous, and added “I think it’s mostly teenage girls that are interested.”

That started some controversy all by itself. Complaining about how they are “famous for nothing” is such a tired and cliche point, but it seems to really push the Kardashian’s buttons.

So what was Kim’s brilliant response? Well, she somehow thought it would be a great idea to post a picture of a gift that Couric sent for her baby. It turns out that Katie sent some pajamas for baby North West, which I guess Kim found ironic.

She Tweeted about it, saying that it was “fake” for Couric to send a gift, then turn around and talk s***.

The best part was that the label on the gift was misprinted by the company who delivered it. The entire thing was pretty much cut off, but it said something to the effect that Katie suggested that Kanye and Kim give their daughter a name that starts with the letter “K.” Obviously that is a fitting comment for Katie as well.

Personally, the whole thing it ridiculous and petty. Let’s get over ourselves ladies and start propping each other up instead of tearing each other down.

..and the pajamas were ugly anyway. Sigh.

Smiling Kate Upton Celebrates News of a Big Honor

Easy to understand why Kate Upton was all smiles at LAX Friday (August 30) -- she was just named “Model of the Year.” She’ll receive the award at the 10th annual Style Awards next week in New York City.

The awards will be held at Lincoln Center, a day before Fashion Week, and then aired on CNN on September 14. The event caps a year that’s also seen the 21-year-old again grace the cover of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue, appear on the front page of Vogue, and join the ranks of Gisele and Kate Moss as a David Yurman model.

The Michigan native will also appear on-screen in “The Other Woman,” along with Cameron Diaz later this year.

Dakota Fanning: Fancy Flier at LAX

Sleek and stylin’ in her skinny jeans and black boots, Dakota Fanning still had to remove them as she went through security at LAX Thursday (August 29). (The boots, not the pants.)

The 19-year-old has been busy lately—shooting and starring in five films this year. In the thriller “Night Moves," she will portray a wealthy financial eco-terrorist alongside co-stars Jesse Eisenberg and Peter Sarsgaard. That flick premieres at the Venice Film Festival on August 31.

Also up, “The Last of Robin Hood” with Kevin Kline and Susan Sarandon. The former child star plays a character that has a notorious affair with legendary actor Errol Flynn. It premieres at the Toronto Film Festival next week.

Other upcoming flicks for the busy blonde include: “Very Good Girls,” “Effie,” and “Every Secret Thing.”

"I've heard that from about 200 people now, and it might be one of those situations where it's just an online rumor or it might be true. But if you see anyone from Led Zeppelin around, let me know. I think I should actually fill in for Jimmy Page on the Robert Plant/ Alison Krauss tour." </P><P> </P><P>Cornell's denial comes just a day after <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/aerosmith/artist.jhtml">Aerosmith</a>Aerosmith guitarist <a href="http://aeronewsdaily.com/blog/2008/10/31/aerosmith-guitarist-says-page-trying-to-motivate-plant-to-return-to-zeppelin/" target="_blank">Brad Whitford confirmed reports</a> that frontman Steven Tyler recently met with Zeppelin for an impromptu jam session. "They did it for fun," Whitford said during an appearance on the syndicated show "Todd N Tyler Radio Empire." "I actually think Jimmy wanted Steven to come over and play a little bit because I think he was trying to light a fire under Robert." </P><P> </P><P>Rumors of a Zeppelin reunion tour have abounded since the iconic band played <a href="/news/articles/1576186/led-zeppelin-give-fans-a-whole-lotta-love-at-reunion-show.jhtml">a single reunion set</a> last year at London's O2 Arena. <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/twisted_sister/artist.jhtml">Twisted Sister</a>Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider added fuel to the fire last month when he revealed that the group was thinking of touring, with or without Plant. </P><P> </P><P><a href="http://newsroom.mtv.com/2008/10/13/another-led-zeppelin-rumor-almost-debunked/">According to Snider</a>, the rest of the band told Plant, " 'We're all rehearsed, we're ready to go. Here's a gazillion dollars on the table. If you don't do it, we're going out with this kid [Myles Kennedy].' " </P><P> </P><P>"And he can sing the sh-- out of Zeppelin," Snider added. "They're going to hope that Robert, at the last minute, will go, 'OK,' and step in." </P><P> </P><P>In a recent interview, Jones told BBC Radio Devon that a new singer was being sought to take over for Plant. "We are trying out a couple of singers," he said. "We want to do it. It's sounding great, and we want to get on and get out there." </P><P> </P><P>But Jones insists that he, Page and Bonham aren't interested in finding a Plant clone. "It's got to be right," he said. "There's no point in just finding another Robert. You could get that out of a tribute band, but we don't want to be our own tribute band. There would be a record and a tour, but everyone has to be onboard." </P><P> </P><P>Of course, even if Zeppelin were to approach him, Cornell might be too busy to take over vocals for the band. His upcoming <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/timbaland/artist.jhtml">Timbaland</a>Timbaland-produced solo LP, <a href="/news/articles/1596730/chris-cornell-debuts-timbaland-produced-track-on-tv-show.jhtml"><i>Scream,</i></a> will be released within the next few months. Cornell told MTV News last month that some of his fans might consider <i>Scream</i> something of a departure, but he doesn't see it that way. </P><P> </P><P>"It makes me happy that there's this perception that I have a group of fans that I'm now sort of throwing a curve at and what their reaction will be," he said. "But I've been in this situation so many times already. When I put out [1999's] <i>Euphoria Morning,</i> my main goal was to create an album that sounded like nothing I'd done in Soundgarden, and I did that. I also had that with Temple of the Dog, where I showed up with songs that weren't necessarily riff-based. And then, of course, the pairing of me and members of <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/rage_against_the_machine/artist.jhtml">Rage Against the Machine</a>Rage Against the Machine had everyone sort of speculating about what that would sound like. </P><P> </P><P>"It feels like I've done this so many times that when it's presented to me as being a departure, I feel that's a misconception," he added. "I feel like that's my theme at this point."</p>

KELLY CLARKSON Tweets Her Praise For Selena Gomez

Kelly Clarkson might not have been a fan of Miley Cyrus’s MTV VMA performance, but there is one young former Disney darling performer that she does like, and that’s Selena Gomez.  After calling out Miley as a #pitchystripper on her twitter feed after Miley’s raunchy performance the singer went back to her twitter account to praise Selena saying;

How cute! No reply from Selena but she did rt the compliment. I don’t know about you but I always find it funny when people rt compliments on twitter!  As for Kelly apparently Miley’s best friend Cheyne Thomas tweeted his feelings about the American Idol winner’s tweet calling her ‘fat and 30′ saying “And she’s fat and 30…the reasons Kelly Clarkson is bitter could really go on for days.”  I guess Thomas realized what he said because he has since erased the tweet and replaced it with  “Not ‘starting a battle’ it’s not that serious.. Was just being a sarcastic asshole as usual.”   Yikes!  I wonder what Miley had to say about that?
