Kelly Clarkson is pregnant. Leaving no room for speculation the music superstar announced the news on Twitter that she and her new husband Brandon Blackstock are expecting their first child.
The 31-year-old Kelly Clarkson married the 36-year-old Brandon Blackstock in an intimate ceremony at Blackberry Farm in Tennessee on October 20th and Tweeted wedding pictures and later a video.
She again took to Twitter to share her good news: “I’m pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever : )”
Even prior to the couple’s nuptials, the multi-Grammy winning singer-songwriter had been vocal in several interviews about her desire to have children right away with Blackstock, a talent manager who has two children from a previous relationship.
The official announcement comes just days after an appearance on ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.’ At the time, Kelly Clarkson told the host that she and her husband wanted to have a baby “like now.” She said: “Practice makes perfect! We do, we do. We’re trying, trying, trying.”
She added: “‘We are not announcing anything right now. We have two kids, and they’re so great. And I never wanted kids before, but now I want, like, five.” She expressed her great enthusiasm over her new role as a stepmother saying, “It sounds so cheesy but it’s such a bigger point to life. I really lucked out with the whole kid situation. They’re amazing.”
The newly pregnant music star made the announcement on her own terms. It must be especially gratifying — not just the joy of future motherhood — but also to reveal that news online on her own where in the past she has been plagued by rumors that she is pregnant. This time, advance of rumors she made it official.
Kelly Clarkson will be much in the limelight during the holiday season; her first-ever Christmas album, entitled, ‘Wrapped in Red’ is due out during the Thanksgiving Day weekend. She also appears in a holiday TV special on NBC. Best of all, she has the Christmas present she wished and hoped for.
