Razer Naga Expert MMO Gaming Mouse Review

The Naga series of gaming mice from Razer, in my opinion, are some of the best gaming mice out there.  There are a few models in the Naga series, but we’ll be looking at the one simply called the Razer Naga.  Let’s give it a closer look after the jump.

The package contents are as follows: Razer Naga Gaming Mouse, Razer Naga Grid Trainer, 3 Interchangeable Side Panels, Quick Start Guide and a Master Guide.

  • Internet connection (for driver installation)
  • At least 35MB of hard disk space

Hooking the Razer Naga mouse up is very simple.  You just download the Synapse software from the website, follow the onscreen instructions, register for a Synapse account, and then plug the mouse into an available USB port.

The Razer Naga has a total of 17 buttons that can be programmed for use with macros, spells, and other specialty items to heighten your gaming experience.  With the included Razer Synapse 2.0 software, the Naga has the ability to save user profiles “in the cloud” to automatically sync your mouse, download driver and firmware updates, as well as save any customized user settings.

Programming the mouse is simple with the included Synapse software.  The software has an easy-to-use interface where all the gaming mouse settings can be set up.  There are tabs for setting up the mouse, including changing the lighting and speed of the mouse, and setting up macros and add-ons.  So whatever your gaming needs, I am sure you will be able to set up each button on the mouse to make gameplay effortless.  After set up is complete, you can save your user profile for quick access to all your customized mouse settings.

The Razer Naga gaming mouse has a nice quality feel to it. I was able to use the mouse continuously while playing my favorite online game, World of Warcraft.  I was able to setup the buttons on the mouse to allow my character to easily utilize spells and combo attacks with just a press of a button.  I did have trouble getting used to using the buttons, as I am not a very hard core gamer. But once I got a feel for the mouse, using the buttons became more fluid.  I really liked the fact that I just had to press a few buttons to allow my character to produce attacks and combos.

The Razer Naga gaming mouse did not produce any fatigue for me while using it.  With the included interchangeable side panels, the mouse can be made to accommodate users with hands of any size.  I did not change the side panels for my use; the mouse was a perfect fit for me and was felt like using any regular mouse, except for the added buttons.  I have given the Razer to my oldest boy to do some more in-depth game play with the mouse. He is into all kinds of games and will be able to put the mouse through its paces. I have never done a review on a gaming mouse (or any other mouse) before, so if you have questions, please ask them and I will try to answer them for you.

All in all this mouse is a must-have for gamers out there.  Razer has always made quality products, and they have won many challenges and tournaments.  They have a pretty spectacular line up of different mice and other hardware, so I am sure you can find one that fits your needs.  This Razer Naga gaming mouse is a great addition to any hardcore gamer’s arsenal, and I would recommend it to anyone.  Hopefully my oldest boy will have more to include here soon. I will add it to this post when he has more information.
