These two new USB hubs from Satechi won’t add much bulk to your travel gear, but they’ll give you four additional USB 2.0 ports for connecting your devices to your computer (Windows 98SE /ME /2000 /XP /Vista /7, Mac OS 9.1 or above, or Linux 2.4 or above) or to game consoles. Both hubs have bus overvoltage protection to protect your computer if one of the attached USB devices short circuits, and both are plug-and-play, hot swappable, and hot pluggable and have transfer rates up to 480Mbps. The Pocket Hub (top photo) is 1.9″ X 1.9″ X 0.5″ and weighs 1.4 ounces; its USB cable stows away inside and it has blue LEDs to show status. The Strip Hub also has a USB cable that stows inside and a blue LED power light; it measures 0.7″ X 0.7″ X 3.3″ and weighs 0.9 ounce. Both are available at Satechi or at Amazon for $9.99 each.
