Have you invested in expensive docking speakers for your iPhone or iPod, and now the talk of Apple changing their connectors has you concerned that your investment is down the drain? If so, you might want to check into the Pear Bluetooth receiver that’s soliciting funding now on Kickstarter. You’ll simply plug the Pear onto the Apple 30-pin connector on the speakers, and you’ll be able to send music from your iPhone, iPod, or iPad to the speakers without having to have your iOS device tied to the dock. (The Pear is the small black square centered above the digital display in the picture.) You’ll also be able to connect your Android device to the speakers via Bluetooth. The Pear uses Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and supports A2DP1.2 and AVRCP 1.0 profiles. Pledge at least $40 for a Pear in either black or white. Shipping is expected in November, 2012. This project already has more than 270% of desired funding with 48 days to go.
Thanks to our reader, Tony Nesta, for the heads-up about the Pear!
