Ever one to shake up the system and come at us with what we least expect, pop superstar Lady Gaga recently revealed to talk show host Andy Cohen that she has taken "a few dips in the lady pond," and is willing to defend her bisexuality.
Initially coming out in a 2009 interview with Barbara Walters as a part of the journalist's "Most Fascinating People" series, the 27-year-old pop queen also revealed that her hit "Poker Face" is about her bisexual identity.
Earlier this week, Gaga again took to the mic, discussing her bisexual identity during a question and answer session at Berghain Club in Berlin. She responded to a question about her sexuality while promoting her new ARTPOP album.
Her honest statement read, "You know what? It's not a lie that I am bisexual and I like women, and anyone that wants to twist this into 'she says she's bisexual for marketing,' this is a f***ing lie. This is who I am and who I have always been."

Label boss Jimmy Iovine calls criticism 'a drag.'

<P>To look at her, you'd think <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/rey_lana_del/artist.jhtml"_blank">Lana Del Rey's</a> inspirations come mostly from 1940s detective movies and sepia-toned Hollywood pinups. But the "Video Games" singer told England's Magic 105.4 that one of her big fashion and music icons is Britney Spears. </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Lana Del Rey Says Her Lyrics 'Are Personal'" id="vid:724891.id:1677189" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>"I'm not really interested in a ton of female musicians but there is something about Britney that compelled me — the way she sings and just the way she looks," Del Rey said. And even though she's just released her major-label debut under the Del Rey name, she added that she's already kind of over music-making. </P><P> </P><P>"The thing that makes me happy now isn't really singing," she said. "Music was once the be-all and end-all, but when you lose everything you have over and over again, it's not so important." </P><P> </P><P>It might be a bit early for her to bail on the whole music thing though, since her album, <I>Born to Die</I>, topped the iTunes album charts in 14 countries this week, including the U.S., U.K., Italy, France, Germany, Ireland and Mexico. </P><P> </P><P>The chart triumph — and a possible #2 debut next week on the <I>Billboard</i> albums tally — came despite a rash of negative or <a href="/news/articles/1678050/lana-del-rey-album-born-to-die-reviews.jhtml">middling reviews</a>
of the album as well as the continuing fallout from her shaky <a href="/news/articles/1677389/lana-del-rey-snl.jhtml">"Saturday Night Live"</a>
debut last month. </P><P> </P><P>The haterade has gotten her label boss, Interscope's Jimmy Iovine, to chime in on the flack his latest protégé has been taking. "It's a drag," Iovine told <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/lana-del-rey-backlash-jimmy-iovine-286378" target="_blank"><I>The Hollywood Reporter</I></a>. "Maybe this is a new sport. It's something we've never seen before. Or maybe it's [like] the Giants and the Jets." Del Rey herself told <I>Rolling Stone</I> that she thought she looked "beautiful" and sang "fine" on the show, saying that "that's just the way I perform, and my fans know that." </P><P> </P><P>Say what you want about Del Rey's looks, attitude and performance ability, but Iovine said there is one thing you can't mess with. </P><P> </P><P>Musically, he thinks <I>Die</I> is "really good. Great lyrics and great songs. I don't care what anybody says, 'Video Games' is a great song. When she sings that song, it moves me. It's how we signed her — she sang and it was beautiful. I think she's really talented. Period."</p>

I've been watching a lot of HGTV since coming to LA. My favorite shows are House Hunters and House Hunters International. There's also another show I like to watch called For Rent, but only because it makes me angry.
When it comes to apartments/homes, I think living in New York for the past eleven years has made me bitter because there was this whiny broad on For Rent a few nights ago who was looking at a huge place—A HUGE PLACE—and was like, "There's no place for a dining room table..."
B*TCH, YOU'RE LUCKY TO GET A KITCHEN IN NEW YORK.
I hated her.
Now there's some stupid lady on House Hunters who wants a townhouse with a fireplace that she can turn on with a light switch. IT HAS TO BE A LIGHT SWITCH because she doesn't want to bend down and flip a switch on the floor.
WHO DO THESE PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE?
Anyway, I know my LA update is WAY overdue (and truth be told I wrote a long one last week but for some reason it didn't save so I lost the whole thing and I was so angry that I just said, "Ah, f*ck it," and closed the computer instead of rewriting) but to give you a quick update, I AM SO HAPPY HERE. I MEAN, I'M REALLY, REALLY HAPPY. And I think living here and watching HGTV—both of these things combined—has made me realize that New York was just beating me down. I mean, the fireplace lady—yes, she's an idiot. But there's nothing wrong with wanting a dining room table. Why did I get so mad at that lady?
Since being here, at least once a day I ask myself why I have lived in New York for so long. (It's like I had Stockholm Syndrome or something.) CALIFORNIA IS AWESOME. It's like the promised land. It's sunny all the time and there are birds and flowers everywhere. I have space out here. I have a sofa on the patio out here. I HAVE A SOFA OUTSIDE. I haven't seen one rat since I've been here. But hummingbirds? THEY ZIP BY MY HEAD EVERY DAY. I am so happy.
I'm supposed to go back to New York in November, but truth be told, I'm not sure I will.

Khloe Kardashian should know by now that she can't protect her family from rumors. Still, when it comes to her little sisters, she's not stepping down without a fight. Khloe recently went on a Twitter rant in defense of half-sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner. The offending rumor was that the teenagers (Kylie is 16, Kendall is 17) have been partying a little too hard, sneaking into 21-and-over clubs and scoring drinks with fake IDs. Khloe inadvertently added fuel to the fire when she posted a tipsy-looking picture of herself and her sisters dancing. As she explained in her tweets, the photo was innocent -- and she's tired of people "assuming the worst" about two high school kids.

Heading out for a quick pit stop this morning (October 20), Eva Longoria grabbed breakfast in Beverly Hills.
Looking casual yet sexy with her hair down and wet, the "Desperate Housewife" wore a comfy white button down sweater, slick black skinnies and stylish tan boots.
In related news, the 38-year-old was out and about in the Big Apple with on-again-off-again former boyfriend Eduardo Cruz on Saturday.
A diner who sat near the strained couple gave a small description of the action, saying, "They cuddled subtly at first and eventually shared a more passionate kiss. They really looked like they were in love during the lunch."

<P><b>UNIVERSAL CITY, California</b> — Hard rock, heavy metal, hardcore and punk have long gone hand-in-hand with evil wizards, magic, vampires and werewolves. <P>On October 14, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/borgir_dimmu/artist.jhtml">Dimmu Borgir</a>Dimmu Borgir — who just happen to be <a href="/news/articles/1593780/demi-lovato-metalhead-metal-file.jhtml">Demi Lovato's favorite black-metal band</a> — will release a a three-disc DVD/CD set called "The Invaluable Darkness," the band's first visual offering since 2002's "World Misanthropy." Boasting live footage shot last year, during gigs in Norway, Germany and England, "The Invaluable Darkness" demonstrates the unbridled furor of seeing Dimmu live, guitarist Silenoz said. </P><P> </P><P>"It shows the honest rawness and atmospheric darkness of our concerts," the Norwegian told <i>Metal File</i> last week, after <a href="/news/articles/1596201/in-this-moment-make-the-dream-a-reality-metal-file.jhtml">dismissing recent online rumors that his band's next LP would be coming out through Roadrunner Records</a>. "Basically, it shows the intense live side of the band, as opposed to the perfection and the cleanness of how we sound on our albums. It's just a different side to the band, basically." </P><P> </P><P>Dimmu Borgir began thinking about "The Invaluable Darkness" two years ago, but didn't start capturing footage until last summer, Silenoz explained, adding that the band will use its current stint on the Blackest of the Black Tour — which got underway Thursday night in Miami Beach, Florida, and also features the tour's founder, Danzig, along with </P><P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/moonspell/artist.jhtml">Moonspell</a>Moonspell, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/winds_of_plague/artist.jhtml">Winds of Plague</a>Winds of Plague and Skeletonwitch — to promote the DVD. Dimmu Borgir will not, however, use the tour to write material for their next LP. </P><P> </P><P>"It's our first time on Blackest, but Glenn [Danzig] had wanted to bring us out before [on the tour], but we weren't available until now," Silenoz said. "We've done Ozzfest before, but we're looking forward to this tour more. We did the main stage on Ozzfest, playing in f--_ing broad daylight. This tour will let us play in bigger places, but at the same time showcase more of what the band's about, visually. We are going to concentrate on the tour for now. Some years ago, we tried putting [material] together on the road, but once we got home, we listened back to it, and were like, 'What the f--- <i>is</i> this?' So, we just scrapped it all. We find it's so much better to totally focus on one thing at a time, and then, when that's over, you move on to the next [thing]. We don't really feel like we need to rush things, anyway, so we'll just take our time, and it's going to be what it's going to be." </P><P> </P><P>Dimmu Borgir hope to reconvene in late December to begin writing the follow-up to 2007's diabolically titled <i>In Sorte Diaboli.</i> "We have some ideas floating around already, but we haven't arranged any material yet," he said. "We'll start doing that once the touring for this DVD is over." The band's frontman, Shagrath, is also due to marry soon — he's engaged to actor Nicolas Cage's ex-girlfriend, Christina Fulton, so that may have an effect on when Dimmu finish their next album, which Silenoz said could be out this coming spring. </P><P> </P><P>"I'm sure [Shagrath] won't let anything get in the way [of] the band — I think, I hope," the guitarist said. "We don't need a Yoko [Ono] situation." </P><P> </P><P>While Dimmu have been at it going on 15 years now, Silenoz said he doesn't think their forthcoming material will be much of a departure from their previous black-metal offerings. </P><P> </P><P>"And we have always been about more than just that term, 'black metal,' " he said. "Luckily for us, the older you get, the less concerned you get with the categorization and putting labels on your music. Things start getting more and more limitless with us, and we know that we operate within certain frames. But we try not to analyze things too much, because it's just going to be working against you in the end. When we write new stuff, we don't think about what we should write — we just get together, and put material together, and if we like it, we keep it. That's the formula, if we even have a formula." </P><P> </P><P>Dimmu Borgir are definitely getting older — guitarist Galder will be missing Blackest because of a recent addition to his family, and <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/susperia/artist.jhtml">Susperia's</a>Susperia's Cyrus will be filling in for him; while former <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/vader/artist.jhtml">Vader</a>Vader drummer Dariusz Brzozowski takes over for Hellhammer, who had to leave the band in 2007 after sustaining a neck injury that's now limited the use of his right arm. As Dimmu has gotten on in years, Silenoz admits they have failed to keep pace with some of the more extreme black-metal acts that have followed in their wake. </P><P> </P><P>"We helped open doors for the more extreme bands out there," Silenoz said. "I'm sure we helped open doors for bands like Watain, [insomuch as] people that had maybe started listening to us first then went on to the more extreme stuff. Let's face it — we're not as extreme as Watain and other bands like that, but we're fine with that." </P><P> </P><P>The Blackest of the Black Tour continues through November 10 in San Francisco. </P><P> </P><P>The rest of the week's metal news: </P><P> </P><P>Dimmu's tourmates on Blackest, <b>Winds of Plague</b>, have announced ex-<b>Azusa</b> drummer <b>Art Cruz</b> has joined their ranks — he replaced <b>Jeff Tenney</b>. According to the band's blog, "Art has already added a new spark to the band and has provided us with a solid backbone that will allow us to continue our rampage stronger than ever." ... </P><P> </P><P>What the world really needs is another </P><P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/led_zeppelin/artist.jhtml"><b>Led Zeppelin</b></a><b>Led Zeppelin</b> box set, so, on November 4, Rhino Records will issue the <i>Led Zeppelin Definitive Collection Mini LP Replica CD</i> box set. Elizabeth Olsen looked enchanting in a white Channel dress with Dior jewelry in the cover of Bullett Magazine - Volume 8 - The Romance Issue.
The 23-year-old actress accompanying interview are as follows.
On her ‘Liberal Arts’ character zibby offering Jesse her virginity:
“Being 35 and taking a girl’s virginity? That’s crazy… If I were an older man and I saw a girl my age, who maybe didn’t know herself that well, I would find her so unappealing, because if you’re in it for sex, the sex won’t be that great. But when I see a woman in her 40s and up, I think, God, you know a lot. One day, I’ll get to be desired like you.”
On her supportive father:
“My dad’s greatest pleasure is watching his kids do what they want to do. Nowadays, he loves going to my sisters’ fashion shows or coming to visit me on set.”
On her thought that being single is necessary to love thyself:
“It’s made me appreciate the things that I need to feel fulfilled. Sometimes, when I’m in a relationship, I get so excited to be around the other person that I forget to indulge the things that I need to be happy on a day-to-day basis. Or at least I did—I’m such a different person now than I was two years ago.”
On working hard to make a name for herself on her own:
“There’s definitely a reason why I went to so many acting conservatories. The more I trained, the less people could say, ‘Oh, she’s just so-and-so’s sister.’ They can still say that, sure—I have no control over that—but at least I know I’ve worked hard. There was definitely a time when I overcompensated, but I’m kind of over that.”
Director Josh Radnor on Elizabeth Olsen:
“You’d be surprised by how many young actors show up not knowing their lines,” he says. “Lizzie isn’t one of them. She puts a lot of thought into her characters, but she doesn’t show her homework.”

My good friend Caprice Crane's new book, With a Little Luck, is out today. Yay, Caprice!
It's gotten great reviews:
"Crane is one of the funniest writers of popular fiction around. The dialog (inner and outer) is laugh-out-loud, snort-inducing hilarious . . . Readers will want to cross their fingers and spit while throwing salt over their shoulders if it helps Berry reach her dreams. Highly recommended."
—Library Journal
"Fans of Stacy Ballis and Cara Lockwood will appreciate Crane's effortlessly funny style, which is often attempted in popular fiction but is rarely this well executed...Lighthearted and charmingly honest."
—Booklist
"[A] satisfying romantic comedy...[with] real character growth."
—Kirkus Reviews
And even better blurbs:
"Romantic, poignant and funny—this book is a lucky find for lit fans. Caprice Crane is a nimble and gifted storyteller."
—Diablo Cody, Academy Award-winning screenwriter of Juno
"A hilarious romp that oozes charm and giddy fun. Caprice Crane is a true talent."
—Molly Jong-Fast, author of The Social Climber's Handbook
"Witty, fast-paced, and sheer fun. Caprice Crane is a master of dialogue. Half the time I was reading this book I was smiling, which made me look like a crazy person on the subway."
—Jancee Dunn, author of Don’t You Forget About Me and Why Is My Mother Getting a Tattoo?
"Absolutely charming and hilarious."
—Missy Peregrym, star of the movie Stick It and ABC's Rookie Blue
"With a Little Luck scores in humor, head, and heart. In other words, it’s a perfect trifecta."
—Karyn Bosnak, author of 20 Times a Lady (soon to be the major motion picture What's Your Number?)
(Omg, who is that last fantastic blurber?) (I meant every word of it.)
And most importantly, she has the cutest dog ever (who likes to video chat with Bev):

The couple kept a low profile as they covered their faces and wore black ensembles for their Big Apple stroll.
Last night, the newlyweds helped out with promotional efforts by stopping by the premiere of Kate's new film "Big Sur."
The film is about a recounting of Jack Kerouac's three sojourns to the cabin in Big Sur, owned by poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti.
Starring alongside Miss Bosworth are Stana Katic, Josh Lucas, and Anthony Edwards. The film is slated to hit theaters November 1st.

Pop superstar and X-Factor judge Demi Lovato is a megawatt star–but she’s also a lot like the rest of us. The starlet opened up by penning a column in Seventeen magazine for their November issue, talking about her body image issues. You can read more by picking up the issue, on newsstands now!
Demi says:
Focus on the Moment:
Sometimes life can feel like one big race, and you’re constantly trying to keep up. When I feel overwhelmed, I take a few minutes to remind myself that all we have is right now.
Show your Softer Side:
Strength may project confidence, but vulnerability isn’t a weakness. Don’t struggle to put up a perfect front—by sharing my issues, I’ve been able to help others.

Oscar-winning actress Mary Steenburgen is now a songwriter who just signed a deal with Universal Music. There are many actors-turned-singer-songwriters, but Steenburgen’s musical turn is an unorthodox one. Find out why and how she started writing songs!
The veteran 60-year-old actress is as stunning as ever as in latest movie, Jon Turteltaub’s comedy, ‘Last Vegas,’ in which she has a costarring role with four Oscar-winners; Michael Douglas, Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Kline.
Add that to her long list of memorable screen roles, from her Oscar-winning performance in ‘Melvin and Howard, to ‘What’s Eating Gilbert Grape’ to the more recent ‘The Help,’ with ‘Back to the Future III’ and other favorites thrown in.
And now Mary Steenburgen is a songwriter for the first time in her life. How and why is an unusual story to say the least. In an interview with Lee Cowan on CBS Sunday Morning — which you can see below — she spoke about the impetus for her new passion and vocation, saying, “I had a minor surgery on my arm, but it was enough that I went under general anesthetic, and the music started right after that.”
For reasons that are unexplainable, she said she suddenly had musical ability. She said, “At one point I kind of looked in the mirror and said, you know, you’re a mom, you’re a wife, people count on you, you can’t go off the deep end into this kind of crazy, musical swirl.”
But yet that’s just what she did, both as singer and as songwriter. She now has 40 songs of which she is either writer or co-writer — with help from some Nashville musicians. And, as noted, she signed a songwriting deal with Universal Music. She also performs one of her songs in the new movie ‘Last Vegas.’
In the interview she revealed that, along with singing, her musical instrument of choice is the accordion. Her husband, actor Ted Danson, gave her one as a Valentine’s Day gift. She said, “I will tell you this, I’m obsessed by it. I love it beyond belief. There’s something about it that just appeals to me, I don’t know why.”
The full interview is below. Mary Steenburgen’s experience exemplifies the mysteries of the human brain and creativity. At the same time, it’s an exciting turn for her and an inspiration for anyone who wants to follow dreams and passions. That is just what Steenburgen has always done; moving from her small town in Arkansas to New York City to launch her acting career, and now, much to her own surprise, becoming a singer-songwriter!

Previously, the 25-year-old actress was linked to Joe Jonas while her now ex-boyfriend dated Jennifer Damiano, his costar in Broadway’s “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.”
Currently, the “Twilight” star is enjoying time in South Africa. On Tuesday she tweeted, “Asked for asparagus today… Only in Africa can your server answer ‘The monkeys broke in and stole it last night.’”
