Emma Stone opens up about her relationship with Andrew Garfield, her boyfriend and ‘Spider-Man 2,’ co-star in a cover story interview with Vogue magazine. The public comments are as striking as they are rare as the couple are intensely devoted to their privacy.
The 25-year-old actress shared her thoughts on a number of topics with Vogue magazine, but front and center, those rare public remarks about the man in her life, 30-year-old British actor Andrew Garfield with whom she co-stars in the second installment of the rebooted iconic Marvel superhero franchise, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2.’ As before, she portrays Gwen Stacy, the onscreen girlfriend of Spider-Man’s alter ego, Peter Parker.
She said of Andrew Garfield, “I think I’ve learned a lot by being around him. He is an incredibly important person to me. It’s been fun working with him just because of who he is as an actor and person. I think it would be fun no matter what.”
And Vogue got an emailed comment from Garfield himself who said of his girlfriend, “I thank my lucky stars that we’ve been able to be on this ride together. We all need companions in the mystery to get you out of your head and into your heart, to moan to and to take the piss out of it all with.”
So there you have it, beautiful and notably rare words from a devoted couple.
Emma Stone also talked about her public image, and she said that she does Google herself. “I don’t usually like what I find. But some of it is really funny.” It was online that she found herself described as a “bland basic bitch.” Rather than take it as an insult, she tells “Vogue” she’s taken on the appellation and made it her own in the interview.
She opened up on a variety of other topics including her attempts prior to her rise to fame as an actress to get on reality TV, and much more. See more excerpts plus Emma Stone’s Vogue magazine cover and photos here. A behind-the-scenes video is below.
