Miley Cyrus’ new song from Bangerz has surfaced, with lyrics she confirmed in an interview are about ex-fiance Liam Hemsworth, the ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ actor Liam Hemsworth.
With her life writ large upon the Internet and the airwaves, the new song written by the 20-year-old aspiring bad girl pop star arrives in a snippet. Its lyrics are intense: “Drive my heart into the night / You can drop the keys off in the morning.”
It was in an interview with Fashion magazine’s cover story — topless on Rolling Stone, she was fully clothed for this cover shot photo — she revealed that as far back as February she wanted to break up with the Australian actor.
She told the publication about the song, “Drive,” saying: “I wrote it while I was working on Valentine’s Day— emotionally it was such a hard time.” She added: “It is about needing to leave someone but not really wanting to completely cut yourself off from the relationship. It’s a time when you want to leave but you can’t. It’s also about moving on.”
“Drive” has not yet had its official release, but in the meantime, there is a snippet below which has leaked to the Internet. Leaked earns its skepticism as nothing at all in the ginormous Miley Cyrus PR promotion campaign seems to be left to chance!
And what a campaign it is. Currently “Wrecking Ball” continues to top the Billboard Hot 100. The twerking and talk of twerking for weeks on end has given the former Hannah Montana her first ever No. 1 hit single. The new album, “Bangerz” arrives on October 8th, and at that time, we can brace ourselves for the expected on the No. 1 Billboard 200. The only real question left unanswered is how many weeks will the album reign at the top!
